Performance Practicality

Most performers do not have the luxury of working on a proscenium stage with the audience at a comfortable distance and seated all in front. Purchasing an illusion that can be performed virtually anywhere, in under any condition is extremely important; especially if it is your first illusion.

Performing pros who work the event market try to choose illusions that can be performed in challenging conditions. All our illusions do not require special lighting, do not have large on stage/ backstage footprints and can be moved on and off stage easily. Most are illusions can also be performed with the audience close to you. In fact, several of the illusions have been presented in J C Sum’s ‘Street Illusions’ content that he has taped for various TV & media projects.

Even large touring illusionists can use one of our illusions amidst a repertoire of large illusions with elaborate staging. Our illusions would be perfect illusion interludes between large pieces. They can be staged in front of intermediate curtains or simply pushed directly on stage from the side wings and set-up instantly.

Contemporary Design

The sleek aluminum with black look is consistent with many of the offered illusions. This is done for several reasons: It gives the props a contemporary look that is neutral and can fit the thematic feel of most performer’s shows. By the request of customers, we have modified the look of a prop to fit their show’s theme and style.

Portability & Weight

In all cases, our illusions pack efficiently into cases. Most illusions can fit in the back of a car. If you have a Multi-Purpose Vehicle or a Station Wagon, any of our illusions will fit into the car. In many cases, the illusions pack into themselves to form cases or the illusions themselves form cases for transport.

An important element of portability is also weight. Our illusions are designed to be a lightweight as possible without affecting the function and durability of the prop. We spend more on getting quality components or specialized materials that are strong but lightweight to meet our portability and weight requirements. This will save you money on your investment in the long run.

Durability

While our props are lightweight, they are also heavy-duty and durable. Some builders use lighter material such as thin plywood, chipboard, cloth & frames and multiple pin-hinged panels to ensure their illusions are portable and lightweight.
The sacrifice is the durability of the prop. Lighter and thinner woods/ chipboards will warp and chip over time and use. Cloth will stretch or tear as well.

We ensure that our illusions are lightweight, portable but durable through the design of the props coupled with the materials and components we select. J C’s creative designs combine the best of form and function to ensure you get the best possible value for your investment.

Affordability

Our illusions will not be considered the cheapest in the world but are by no means unaffordable. In fact, for the design and quality of fabrication you get, our illusions are extremely value for money.

As the illusions are original and proprietary to us, you are also getting illusions that are unique and not available anywhere else.
We have also taken in consideration that the illusions are shipping out of Singapore and have factored that into our pricing to offset the cost of higher shipping fees. In addition, we also have very competitive door-to-door shipping rates due to the volume we ship out.
