The front and side curtains are drawn open by two dancers revealing
two solid platform blocks sitting on stage as well as two more dancers.
The illusionist signals for the curtains to be closed up with the two
dancers inside.
The curtained canopy is
pushed back upstage by several feet to give room for a radio-controlled model
car that the illusionist drives on stage from the side wings. The
radio-controlled model car drives around on stage then makes it way into the
curtained canopy under the front curtain.
The curtains are immediately drawn open to reveal a full-sized car sitting atop the two platform blocks.
The Phantom Car
Appearance
The illusionist and assistant audience move to the back ‘wall’ and raise it off the floor to show that there is nothing behind the enclosure. The back ‘wall’ is lowered back in place and the illusionist and assistant move back to the front of the enclosure.
The two front panels are
slid back into place covering the front of the enclosure again. Literally 2
seconds later, pyrotechnics erupt and the panels are pulled apart to reveal a
magical appearance of a full-sized car with four
dancers!
